Writing is balm for my soul.

Apart from my film, theatre and transmedia writing work, I also occasionally write poetry and short fiction.

My blog came out of the need to connect more deeply with my friends and family on questions that I just wasn’t able to find time and space to formulate otherwise.

My first language, growing up, I think, mom please correct me if I'm wrong, was Hindi. But now my first language is English, which is, mom please correct me if I'm wrong, because I went to an English-Medium school.

Then I lived in Singapore for so many years, and I picked up a smattering of Singlish and Mandarin also. Someone says "how" and I hear "hao". Then I came to Mumbai and (re-)started learning Hindi/Urdu, started expressing myself better in these languages.

Basically my brain-language is quite rojak

She was docked for a while in my cove of love
And again and again I confessed it
But my arms were too thin, and she thought my chest
Was repulsively soft when she pressed it…

The motion of the "Empire Debate" was: “This house believes that the Indian Subcontinent benefited more than it lost from the experience of British Colonialism.”

After years of post-colonial theorizing, nostalgia, historiography and head shaking, it comes as at least a mild shock that the motion was phrased in the positive.

I’m currently looking to collaborate with ed-tech companies on high-concept, radically different content that can combine tech, storytelling, interactivity and hardcore pedagogy. If you’re in this field, I’d love to talk to you.
